Frequently Asked Questions

  • I make the live painting experience seamless and enjoyable from start to finish. Here’s what to expect:

Step 1: I arrive about an hour before the event to set up the easel, canvas, and materials.

Step 2: I begin painting as the event starts and the guests arrive, capturing the mood, atmosphere, and key moments in real time.

Step 3: Guests often love watching the painting come to life! I love interacting with them, sharing insights into the process while continuing to work on the piece.

Step 4: By the end of the event, the painting is nearly complete.

Step 5: I take the artwork back to my studio for final refinements and a protective varnish. Once finished, it’s ready for pickup or delivery, an heirloom to be cherished for years to come.

  • My live painting style is Impressionistic and stylized, allowing me to capture the setting and people quickly and effectively in just a few hours. I focus on conveying the mood and atmosphere of the event through expressive brushstrokes and painterly effects. My paintings are not about realism, that's what photographers and videographers are for, but about capturing the emotion and energy of the day in a unique, artistic way.

While I do add final touches in the studio after the event, most of the painting is completed on-site, giving your guests the special experience of watching it evolve from start to finish. It’s a beautiful way to relive your most cherished moments.

  • A live painting typically takes 4-5 hours, but I can adjust depending on your event. For weddings, I often start painting in advance, starting with the background elements, to capture key moments like the ceremony or first dance as it’s happening.

  • Yes! You can choose a canvas size that fits perfectly in your space. If you have specific dimensions in mind, I can accommodate custom sizing. Depending on the requirements, a custom size may incur an additional fee, so please get in touch for a quote.

  • No framing is necessary! I paint on 1.5” thick gallery-wrapped canvas with finished edges. I add hanging wire on the back so it’s ready to hang as soon as you receive it. If you prefer a frame, you’re welcome to add one later.

  • After the event, I take the painting to my studio for final touch-ups and apply a protective varnish. Typically, your painting will be ready within 2-4 weeks after the event. However, during the busy summer season, the timeline may vary. I’ll keep you updated on the progress and let you know as soon as it’s ready for pickup or delivery.

  • No worries! I take extra care to protect your venue. I use a protective plastic layer underneath a drop cloth and keep all tools in a secure container to prevent spills. I’ve painted at numerous luxury venues, and never left a mark behind. You can trust that your space will remain spotless.

  • Yes! I love supporting meaningful causes. If you’re hosting a fundraising event, please reach out, and I’d be happy to discuss potential collaborations.

  • Absolutely! I am based in Vancouver, BC, and travel frequently for events. For weddings and events within Greater Vancouver, there’s no additional travel fee. For destinations beyond this area, I can provide a custom quote based on location.

  • Yes! If your wedding or event has already passed, I can work from photos and video to recreate the moment on canvas. You can find the rates for photo based commissions on my Pricing page.
